The CEA URGES MEMBERS TO VOTE FOR GINA BACKUS FOR SCHOOL BOARD IN NOMINATING DISTRICT F
We do not take a position on either candidate running in Nominating District B
The Christina School Board Election is on Tuesday, May 9, 2006
Polls are open from 10am to 8pm
Our interview team has interviewed 4 of the 5 candidates running for two school board positions. Gina Backus is running against Jeff Everhart and Eric Ratchford in nominating district “F.” Kat Hutchison is running against David Resler in nominating district “B.”
Barry Young, Ron King, Harriellen Minnehan, Heather Winward and I comprised the CEA interview team. Our purpose was to find a candidate the CEA could endorse and support in the elections to be held on Tuesday, May the Ninth.
Gina Backus emerged as the strongest candidate from nominating district “F.” She showed that she was prepared, organized and committed to positive change in Christina. Eric Ratchford did not respond in time for our report on April 26th --the date of our representative assembly.
Kat Hutchinson and David Resler appear to both be worthy candidates. Kat and Dave have strong records of service to our district and have many positive things to say about teachers. As an interview team we could not find a distinguishing factor for us to pick one over the other.
